I spent 10 years training between Asia (7) and Europe (3) and developed a training infrastructure of 7 Trainers in Asia.
As part of my responsibility, I designed various sales programs, facilitated in various countries, and established relationships with key business stakeholders. Working abroad helped me understand the importance of connecting with various cultures and adapting to maximize the learning experience for the participants (while measuring tangible outcomes). Coaching was highly visible (in Asia) ‘from the top down’ to embed the learning and drive behavioral change for participants. Managers accepted this role and became accountable for coaching their team. Coaching in Europe provided a greater challenge due to cultural aspects.
